Do you love shopping at H&M?

Would you like to buy even more from this fashionable retailer while keeping the most money in your wallet?

You’ve come to the right place.

H&M offers the most stylish pieces for women, men, and children. Whether you most enjoy shopping at H&M for fashionable clothing, cute accessories, or stunning home goods, you’ll wish you had known these 12 tips your whole life.

Are you ready to learn how to save? Let’s go!

1. Download the H&M App

The H&M app features exclusive discounts and sales, and you can harness the power savings anytime, anywhere on your mobile device. The app will often gift you coupons, and sometimes they’re as hefty as 30% off. You can also receive free shipping!

All you need to do is download the H&M app for your Apple or Android device for free.

You’ll want to turn on push notifications so that you can stay up to date on the most recent sales. The app will alert you to the best savings opportunities and is one of the best ways to save money at H&M.

You can also use the H&M app to enhance your in-store shopping experience with features that enable you to search for in-stock items. All you have to do is scan the barcode on a product you like, and you can find out if there are more colors or sizes available in your store and stores nearby.

2. Sign Up for H&M’s Newsletter and Email List

Any savvy shopper knows that keeping up with recent sales is the best way to save money. Another way to keep an eye on H&M’s sales is to sign up for their newsletter.

As a bonus, you’ll also receive emails containing exclusive offers, fashion news, and style advice. Who doesn’t want to see personalized discounts arrive straight to their mailbox?

When you sign up for the first time, you’ll automatically receive a discount of 10-20% off your entire purchase. Don’t miss out on these digital savings!

3. Join H&M’s Loyalty Program

If you use the H&M app or shop online, you need to sign up for H&M’s loyalty program. It’s free to join and super easy to navigate.

With the loyalty program, you’ll receive:

  • An awesome welcome offer of 10% off your next purchase
  • $5 for every $200 you spend
  • Exclusive offers, coupons, and discounts
  • Free returns when you shop online
  • Access to a payment program
  • An exclusive birthday present offer
  • Members-only shopping events
  • Access to digital receipts

And it doesn’t stop there. When you spend over $500, you’ll be upgraded to Plus Member status, where you get everything listed above and:

  • Free shipping and returns
  • Exclusive surprise offers
  • Special access to limited H&M collections

Signing up for a free member’s account could save you some serious cash if you love to shop at H&M.

4. Stack Coupons and Sales

Compared to other retailers, H&M is fairly strict when it comes to their policy for stacking deals. With that said, it’s not impossible to stack deals, and if you’re dedicated to saving money at H&M, you’ll find a way to maximize your discounts.

One of the major exceptions to H&M’s ‘no stacking’ rule is the 15% off recycling discount (which we’ll cover later on). You can use this discount on your entire order–sale items included.

Another common exception is the free shipping discount that you’ll often find in the H&M app. Be sure to use as many discounts as possible when shopping.

5. Find Coupons on Koopy.com

Between the H&M app and Newsletter, you might be fooled into thinking that you’ve got enough coupons.

But the real savings kings and queens know that there is no such thing as too many coupons. You can save even more money when you find discounts on Koopy.com.

These coupons can be as great as 70% off select items like kid’s clothing and new styles. When you combine savings from an online coupon site like Koopy.com with H&M’s sales and exclusive member’s offers, you’ll save more money than you think!

6. Follow H&M’s Social Media Accounts

For more exclusive offers and sales updates, you can follow H&M on their social media accounts. You can find H&M on:

Through these social media platforms, you can earn even more discounts and news updates on special events. These events often include giveaways that you won’t want to miss out on!

7. Buy in Bulk (In-Store)

H&M loves to feature sales that follow the “2 for $10” and BOGO models. When you do the math, the average savings settle around 30%. That’s worth stocking up!

Usually, H&M sells its basics on sales like these. If you’re in need of tees or tank tops, you’re in luck!

The only catch is that these sales aren’t featured online. You can still shop sales online at H&M, but it’s unlikely that you’ll find these BOGO and bulk deals.

8. Shop Clearance Online

Experienced shoppers know that the best part of online shopping is the convenience. But when you shop clearance at H&M, the deals are pretty great. You can find items on sale for up to 50% off their original price.

On H&M’s website, you can also browse the sales category, which features organized deals, like the menswear category “Last Chance up to 70% off”

Even if you prefer to shop in-store, checking out H&M’s online prices is a good idea. If you find an item listed for less online, H&M will offer a price match in-store. All you need to do is show them the H&M listing on your phone.

9. Buy Last Season’s Clothes

This trick will take a bit more skill than redeeming your average discount code. H&M clothing is categorized into nine seasons. Four just wasn’t enough.

With some sleuthing, you can figure out which clothes are in (and expensive) and which clothes are out (and will be discounted soon).

When viewing the topmost barcode on any item at H&M, you’ll see a six-digit number, followed by a space, a single-digit number, and another space. That single-digit number indicates what season H&M is in.

If you see a lot of season three items on the new arrivals shelf, you’ll know that season 2 is about to go out of style–and all the season two items will soon be marked down.

Shopping new arrivals at H&M is fun, but it won’t save you money. Wait for those markdowns to shop end of season discounts.

10. Get the Employee Discount

H&M offers many benefits to employees, including paid time off for your birthday and pet insurance. Yes, your birthday is now an official holiday, according to H&M, at least.

The best benefit for saving money, though, lies in the 25% off employee discount.

If you’re not interested in getting a new job, you can always enlist the help of a friend or family member. Employees also receive 25% off vouchers to give to friends and family so that employees’ loved ones can reap the benefits of being part of the H&M team.

11. Donate Used Clothes

If you’ve never dropped off old clothes at H&M before, you’re missing out.

To take part in H&M’s recycling program, all you need to do is drop off your unwanted clothing at the register and accept a 15% off coupon for your entire purchase.

As stated on H&M’s website, you can bring any brand clothing in any condition to redeem the discount. They even accept odd socks, old sheets, and worn-out tees.

12. Get 15% Off with H&M’s Student Discount

If you’re a student, you’re in luck. H&M offers 15% off to students. All you need to do is verify your student status with UNiDAYS, and you’re good to go.

You can use this discount in-store or online, and it’s valid every time you shop at H&M as long as you’re in school.

When you’re in college, shopping on a budget isn’t always easy. But it can be at H&M!
