15 Tips to Get the Most Out of Your Dollar at Lush

The popular bath products store, Lush, practically draws you in with its fruity sweet concoction of smells that can be recognized from down the street.

It’s easy to buy too many products from the Lush store and to rack up quite the bill. That’s why we’re here to off-set that cost with some major savings tips!

Keep reading for the best tips for saving in-store and online!

1.   Sign Up for their Subscription Service

Lush has a subscription service that can help you stay stocked up on your favorite products. Customize your Lush subscription products with your go-to face, body, and hair care from the store. This is a monthly subscription that is sent straight to your door without the hassle of actually going into the Lush store or placing a new order every month.

Yes, this costs you the same amount as it would make the separate purchases each month, but it’ll save you time. Also, one of the biggest problems of spending money in Lush is when you go into the store and stock up on more than what you were anticipating buying. To avoid this, use the subscription service to not be distracted by seasonal and new items.

2.   Shop the Gifts Section

The Lush gifts section has great deals from these bundled items. You get more products, but often pay less since they are packaged together as a bundle. It’s the perfect gift for someone else since they’re also wrapped and presented beautifully. Or just treat yourself to a bargain gift!

Also, you can sort by the price of a gift, to ensure you stay in your price range. They have gifts for under $25, gifts between $25-$50, and gifts over $50. There’s something for every price range.

3.   Earn a Free Face Mask

If you’re an avid Lush shopper, save up the containers you use! If you bring five clean lush containers into the store, Lush will exchange them for a new free face mask. This face mask is full-sized and you can choose from any of their all-natural options.

Lush has this policy to cut down on the amount of plastic they use by recycling the used containers you give back to them. This can end up saving you money and you may find that you never have to spend your own money to buy a face mask from Lush again.

Also, that free face mask comes in a container, so then you’ll only have to buy four more products to earn another free mask, and so the cycle continues.

4.   Cut Bath Bombs

The Lush bath bombs are huge! They pack a colorful bath in each one, but did you know that you don’t have to use the whole thing at once? Cut your bath bomb in half to get the most bang for your buck.

It splits apart fairly easily and the powder that falls off can be used in addition to half the bath bomb while you soak in the tub. This still makes your bath smell great, moisturizes your body, and of course, turns the bathwater into magical color.

5.   Return What You Don’t Like

Lush sells products that you may assume can’t be returned. However, you’d be wrong! They have a 90-day policy for returns. This is helpful to know for products that you can’t test out in-store, like their shampoo bars.

The only policy they have is you have to have 75% of the product left. This keeps people from scamming their way by returning a mainly used product.

If you find that a shampoo bar, for example, doesn’t work with your hair type, then exchange it out or get your money back. This alleviates the pressure in buying products from Lush since you know that you can always return if it doesn’t work for you.

6.   Get a Free Facial

Lush employees are trained to do mini-facials in the form of scrubs or masks. You can actually have them apply a mask on your face or hand in-store. All you have to do is ask!

This is a great way to test the product before you buy it, especially to see how your skin reacts to the product.

7.   Get a free sample

If you’d rather try out a face mask or any other product at home, rather than in-store, Lush will give you a free sample. Again, just ask one of the employees to give you a sample. It’s small but you can use it once or twice to see how the product reacts with your skin and see if you’d like to buy a full size of it.

The bath bombs and bubble bars and other solid bath products don’t come in sample size, but anything liquid does! There also isn’t a cap on how many products you can get for free. Ask nicely and they will give you a sample of all the products you’re interested in.

8.   Get Twice the Use Out of Bubble Bars

Bubble bars are advertised by Lush as a two-use product. However, these bars pack a punch and can instead be cut into four or even six pieces to use in your bath.

This small amount will still give you an infinite number of bubbles and a great smelling bath. Get the most out of one product and make it last a while with this hack!

9.   Sign up for Their Mailing List

Sign up for Lush’s mailing list to receive the most updated news on what products are launching, and holiday specials, and sales.

Lush typically has sales around the holiday, so look out for information around that time. Also, they often have free shipping with various price purchases throughout the year. Sign up so that you can be in the know and jump on the sales when they happen.

10.  Use a Strainer for More Bubbles

Use a metal strainer and put the bubble bar in it. Then run it under the tap or swish it around the tub to make even more bubbles than if you were to just crumble it under the faucet.

This will not only give you a more bubble-filled bath, but it’ll also save the product and use fewer bubbles than if you traditionally crumbled the product into the bath.

11. Talk with the Staff

The employees at Lush are super knowledgeable about the products in the store. Lush products are made with all-natural ingredients, so the employees are trained to know these specific ingredients. They can tell you almost anything you need to know about the products in-store.

Ask before buying and really have a conversation about the products so that you know if they will align with what you need. The employees are an infinite treasure trove of knowledge.

12. No Promo Codes

Lush offers many freebies and reasonable discounts on gift sets and other products. However, they don’t have promo codes. When checking out online, there isn’t even a place to enter a promo code.

This is good to know so that you don’t get scammed from an untrustworthy link. If there’s a promo code out there for Lush, it’s probably fake.

13. Save on Shipping

Lush has a policy of free ground shipping for orders over $50. Stock up on your favorite lush products to meet that $50 minimum to receive free shipping. This can save you $5 or more that could then be applied right back into a new bath bomb from Lush.

14. Save with In-Store Pickup

Another way to cut down on shipping costs is with in-store pickup. With Lush, you can order online and pick up your product in-store. This is great if you want to order something that’s less than $50 but still save on shipping.

This can save you money as well as time. No need to wait for shipping since you can pick up your products the day you order them with this service. There are also no fees for this service.

15. Pay in Installments

Lush has Afterpay, which means that you can buy the products you love right now, but only pay a fourth of the cost upfront. The other three payments will be sent every two weeks following. This is a great way to get all of your essentials without having to pay a huge cost upfront.

Natural Products Don’t Have to be Expensive
