American Airlines Reservation Policy
American Airlines flights can be booked up to 2 hours before the departure time. For flights departing in less than 2 hours, go to the airport’s ticket counter.
Flights can be booked up to 331 days in advance on the American Airlines website.
Up to 6 passengers can be booked in one reservation on the website. For groups of 10 or more, you will have to contact Group & Meeting Travel.
On booking trips 7 days or more before departure, reservations can be held for free up to 24 hours in select markets. Multiple reservations to one or more destinations cannot be held.
Reservations made by travel agents or through other websites will incur an additional charge per passenger.
Special fares and discounts are available for group reservations.
You can find a 13 character long code in the confirmation email, the receipt from the airport or the city ticket office, and your credit card statement. The code contains the airline code (the first 3 digits) and the ticket number (the last 10 digits).
For add-ons such as seats, bags, and upgrades, there are separate ticket numbers.
When you book tickets, you can find the 6-character booking code, also known as the record locator, in the confirmation email or on the tickets of each passenger in the booking.
