How Do Fetch Rewards Work?
Fetch Rewards is a pretty easy app to use, and it can pay off with significant rewards! There are two ways to upload receipts into the Fetch Rewards app: upload a paper receipt or send an eReceipt.
If you have a paper receipt from shopping, you can simply open the app and use your camera to snap a picture. As long as the receipt fits into the frame and the words are not blurry, the image should be accepted nicely.
If the receipt is too long, you can select “Add Section” to provide more space for your receipt to fit into the frame.
You can also use eReceipts for electronic receipts from online shopping. Keep in mind that Fetch Rewards currently only accepts receipts from your connected email address or Amazon account.
Once your receipt has been logged, Fetch will analyze your data and provide you with points that can then be accumulated and, when you’re ready, redeemed for gift cards.
Tips for Using Fetch Rewards Successfully
Before you start digging through your junk drawer for that pile of receipts that have been collected over the past year, here are a few tips to ensure that you use Fetch Rewards successfully.
Upload Receipts within 14 Days
Receipts, whether paper or eReceipts are only accepted within 14 days of purchase. So while this does mean you can throw in some receipts from last week, a random balled-up receipt from 2014 found under the seat of your car will not suffice.
Points to Dollar Value
It’s important to remember that 1,000 Fetch Rewards Points = USD 1. While this may seem like an insurmountable figure, you really can accrue points in large value rather quickly! You can get bonuses just for signing up or referring friends. You’ll have thousands of points before you know it!
Scan Any and Every Receipt
The best way to get value from Fetch is to get into the habit of scanning every receipt from every purchase you make. Even small or local stores have value! Remember, they want as much data as they can get.

When it comes to my evaluation of apps, one of the first things I consider is how secure I feel using the app. Fetch Rewards doesn’t require bank account information, and I can stick to simple paper receipt uploads if I don’t feel comfortable linking accounts.
The truth is, I do enough grocery (and other) shopping to take advantage of an app like Fetch Rewards that lets me choose how I want to use future money in the form of a gift card.
