How to Redeem and Use your Dell Rewards

Computers, laptops, monitors, and accessories can get expensive, but they are a necessity for most people. Whether you’re working from home, have students at home, or just need a computer for the house, Dell is a popular place to buy these products.

Dell sells high-quality computers and accessories that make it easy to do your work, homework, gaming or just browsing fun. While Dell runs sales and there are many ways to save at Dell, one of the most overlooked ways is Dell Rewards.

This rewards program rewards you for shopping – what’s not to love about it, right?

Here’s everything you must know about Dell Rewards and how it works.

What Are Dell Rewards?

Dell, like most retailers, offers a loyalty program that allows you to earn money back on your purchases as rewards and redeem them for money off when your next order. There isn’t a minimum amount of rewards you must have to redeem them. You can redeem them in any increment making it even easier to enjoy the rewards program.

Every time you shop at Dell.com, you can earn up to 3% back in rewards on your purchases. You can also earn an additional 3% back if you include ProSupport or ProSupport Plus for 4 years or more.

It’s like getting paid to shop at Dell and since computers and electronics can be expensive, this is a great way to save on Dell products.

How Do Dell Rewards Work?

To earn Dell Rewards, you must sign up for a Dell account. After you sign up, click ‘join Dell Rewards’ and you’re automatically a part of the program. It’s free to join and anyone that makes purchases at Dell is eligible.

Dell Rewards members get access to 3% back on their regular purchases plus ProSupport purchases every time they shop. They are also eligible for free expedited shipping and have access to exclusive deals that ‘regular Dell customers’ don’t have.

You’ll receive your rewards around 30 days after your product ships to you. You can log into your Dell Members Portal to see your points.

An Example of Dell Rewards

A 3% reward might not sound like a lot, but they add up quickly. Let’s say, for example, you bought this laptop for $1,899 and you bought ProSupport Plus for 4 years. You’d earn $113.94 back in rewards.

The same applies if you bought separate pieces, such as a CPU, monitor, and server. You earn 3% back on each item, plus you double your rewards if you buy ProPlus Support.

How to Earn Dell Rewards

It’s important to know how to activate your Dell Rewards account so you earn rewards on each purchase. You can shop online at Dell.com or chat with a representative over the phone, but no matter how you purchase, you must either be logged into your account (online) or mention your rewards account to the representative.

You’ll see the rewards in your account in approximately 30 days, but during busier seasons (holidays, etc.) it can take up to 45 days to see the rewards.

What Can You Get?

Of course, the bigger question is, what could you get with your Dell Rewards? We think it’s the best reward any store could offer. Rather than redeeming points or your earnings for a ‘prize’ that you might or might not want, you use the rewards as money off your next purchase.

If you have $150 in rewards, that’s $150 off your next Dell purchase. You can apply the promo to reduce your total, reducing the total cash you need out of pocket.

Redeeming your Dell Rewards

It’s easy to redeem your Dell Rewards whether you shop online or in-store. If you shop online, log into your Dell account before checking out. At checkout, enter the amount of the rewards you would like to use. If you prefer, you can also enter your Dell Loyalty Rewards account number in the gift card section of the checkout page.

If you buy your items online, provide the email address you used to sign up for Dell Rewards to the representative. You could also provide your Dell Loyalty Rewards account number as well.

The nice thing about Dell Rewards is you don’t have to use all your rewards at once. If you only use some of the rewards, you can use the remaining amount on your next purchase as long as it’s before they expire. Any unused rewards that expire will be deducted from your account.

How to Track your Dell Rewards

It’s easy to keep track of your Dell Rewards. First, you need a Dell account. It’s free to sign up and this is how you track your purchases and rewards once you become a member.

If you’re already a Dell member, click the box that asks if you want to sign up for Dell Rewards within your dashboard. If you aren’t a member yet, sign up and make sure you click that you want to become a Dell Rewards member.

Returns and your Dell Rewards

Life happens and sometimes you have to return a product you bought. If the purchase earned you rewards, Dell will deduct the amount of the rewards earned for the returned product. If you return the product after you have already redeemed rewards, Dell will still deduct the applicable rewards from your account which could lead to a negative balance.

Other Ways to Save at Dell

Dell Rewards is a great way to save on future Dell purchases, but you can combine your rewards with these other ways to save at Dell to keep even more money in your pocket.

Look for Dell Coupon Codes

Dell often runs coupons and promo codes right on their website. Always check their coupon codes page before shopping. You never know when you might save money. You can also check third-party websites for reputable promo codes too.

Choose Free Expedited Shipping

As a Dell Rewards member, you automatically get free expedited shipping. You must select this option at checkout, though, so don’t overlook it or forget it. Free shipping could save you a significant amount of money on your purchase.

Price Match

Dell promises the lowest prices, but sometimes you get lucky enough to find identical products elsewhere. If that’s the case, Dell might price match the product. Keep in mind that the product must be identical to get the price.

The good news is, though, you can price match before you buy or for up to 30 days AFTER you make a purchase. Dell refunds the difference to you, making it easy to ensure you’re paying the lowest price possible.

Shop During the Largest Sales

Like most retailers, Dell runs their best promotions around the holidays. Consider saving your purchase for Black Friday, Cyber Monday, or around any other major holiday such as the Fourth of July or Memorial Day.

While Dell runs sales year-round, holiday sales are typically the best.

These are just a few ways to save at Dell, but there are many more ways to save and keep more money in your pocket when shopping at Dell.

Dell Rewards FAQs

Do Dell Rewards expire?

You must use your Dell rewards within 90 days of earning the or they expire. The countdown starts on the date of issuance, so be sure to track the dates in your portal to be sure you don’t lose your rewards.

You can also see the rewards expiration date on your dashboard for easy tracking.

How much does it cost to be a Dell Rewards member?

The great news is that it is 100% free to join Dell Rewards. Everyone that buys any products at Dell should join. If you don’t, it’s like throwing free money out the window.

Unfortunately, Dell doesn’t offer rewards on any Dell Outlet purchases. Only purchases made directly through Dell either online or with a representative count for rewards.

No, you can only earn rewards on purchases made after you sign up for Dell Rewards. For example, if you bought a laptop two months ago but didn’t sign up for Dell Rewards at the time, but are now buying a new monitor and signing up, only the monitor will accrue reward points.

Final Thoughts – Are Dell Rewards Worth It?

Dell Rewards is a free program, so anyone who shops at Dell should definitely sign up. While I don’t love that the rewards expire in 90 days, there’s always something you could use your rewards on and save money.

If you frequently shop at Dell, it’s a no-brainer – sign up for the program, earn rewards and get free expedited shipping. If you don’t shop there often, it’s still worth it if for no other reason than to get the free expedited shipping.
