Scalp Cooling Subsidy

Cancer patients who have a solid tumor cancer can get a subsidy for a scalp cooling treatment. This minimizes chemotherapy induced hair loss and most insurances do not cover the treatment. The subsidies are available for those in the U.S. who are receiving treatment in a medical facility in the United States. You’ll also need to demonstrate financial need. For most patients this means that your household income must be at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level.

To get your subsidy, fill out the online application or download and mail in a hard copy of the application. The application consists of personal and medical questions. You’ll need to submit that along with last year’s tax return to qualify for the program. You’ll be notified within one week if you’ve been accepted.
